LESTER POON

CHIEF DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

As Chief Development Officer, Lester Poon is responsible for promoting Exactis Innovation’s vision and mission, and securing sustainable industry funding.

Lester’s extensive sales and business development experience in the life science sector spans start-ups to large enterprises. At Imagia Canexia Health (ICH), a developer of next-generation sequencing (NGS) cancer tests, Lester served as Director of Business Development. At ICH, he secured funding from pharmaceutical companies to launch Project Access to Cancer Testing and Treatment, ACTT, which provided the largest number of liquid biopsy tests to Canadian cancer patients.

Prior to ICH, Lester led enterprise software sales for Illumina in several regions, including parts of the United States, Canada, Latin America and Asia Pacific. The goal of Illumina’s suite of software tools is to help NGS users gain quicker and more useful insights from their data.

Lester obtained his MSc in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Simon Fraser University and his BSc from the University of British Columbia.
